We have also increased the number of after-school programs available in GFL. For more information refer to the Family Place Program Guide or, to contact the Learning Village Family Place coordinator Laurie Bourdage 403.681.7363

Mentoring

In The Learning Village children often receive informal mentoring through their interaction with service-provider leaders of after-school programs offered in Family Place and several individual and group formal mentoring opportunities are offered in schools, Family Place and at several CLVC Partner locations. These include: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Calgary and Area, Boys and Girls Clubs of Calgary, Hull Child and Family Services.

Parent Engagement / Family Literacy

Our Family Connectors and Recreation Connectors support parents’ engagement in their child’s learning and in their school. They also support schools in their efforts to engage with parents. Our Family Place Program Guide includes information about family and adult English language and literacy classes.
