The Calgary Learning Village Collaborative (CLVC) is exploring how supportive communities and supported families make positive contributions to child and youth development. The CLVC is a partnership of education, health, social, recreation and cultural services and provides activities, programs, supports and community connections for children, parents and residents of the Greater Forest Lawn area of Calgary. Working with schools to build awareness of key issues, community assets and strengths we create and utilize a network of connections to facilitate collaboration between schools, community and services. The CLVC also has specific areas of focus including: Mental Health; Nutrition; and access to Recreation opportunities. The CLVC Family Place locations in seven schools host free and low cost activities and programs for area children, youth, adults and families. With a focus on the “whole child” our commitment is to help the community.
